The Victoria Park Vixens epitomise what it is to be part of the Grassroots scene.
They’re fun, down to earth and passionate about playing footy.
You’ll have seen them on a National Lottery Ad, various fashion shoots to the whole team playing a key role in the Euro 2020 Official music video - they’re a proper sound group of players.
Formed in February 2019 after an Instagram story callout for girls looking to form a team in East London, they now have three and almost 40 players of varying abilities in their squad.
Off the field, players are championing women in football from Charlotte’s relentless work as a referee for the mens and women’s game to the designers, writers and artists using their craft to inspire a positive movement to get everyone involved in footy.
I’ve been getting to know the squad over the last six months shooting during those long sun-drenched weekend training sessions to the bitterly cold Monday night games. The spirit across the team remains positive regardless of results.
